Prescription Refill Requests
- Please allow 48 business hours for all prescription refill requests.
- Refill requests are processed Monday–Friday during normal business hours.
- Prescription refills are not processed on weekends or holidays. Please plan ahead to ensure your pet does not run out of medication.
Prescription Options
We are happy to provide medications in several ways:
✔ Vetcove Online Pharmacy
Our trusted online pharmacy can conveniently ship medications directly to your home.
✔ Written Prescriptions
We can provide a printed prescription for you to take to your preferred pharmacy during your appointment or for you to pick up. We cannot mail or email these.
✔ Pharmacy Authorization
If your pharmacy contacts us for authorization, we are happy to approve prescriptions when appropriate.
✔ In-House Pharmacy
Many medications can be filled by our hospital with a 48-business-hour processing time. We also offer shipping for eligible in-house prescriptions if needed.
Tacrolimus Refills
Tacrolimus is the only medication that requires you to contact our office directly for refills. Please call us at least 48 business hours before your pet runs out so we can prepare your prescription.
Prescription Calls
As our practice has grown, we are no longer able to call prescriptions directly into outside pharmacies. While this was a service we were able to offer when we first opened, it has become too time-intensive to continue while maintaining timely patient care.
Instead, we are happy to:
- Provide a printed prescription
- Approve pharmacy requests when they contact us
- Fill eligible medications through our in-house pharmacy
- Ship medications through our online pharmacy or directly from our hospital when available
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. These policies help us provide efficient, high-quality care to all of our patients while ensuring your pet receives their medications as quickly as possible.
